Why Radiographs Are Important?

Radiography, or X-rays, is a medical imaging method that uses X-rays to capture images of the internal structures of your pet's body. This technique assists veterinarians in diagnosing and treating a range of medical conditions, including injuries and illnesses.

Has your pet been limping, struggling to breathe, having trouble urinating, or possibly ingested a foreign object? These are just a few situations where radiography can be extremely helpful, allowing veterinarians to check for any internal issues. X-rays can reveal abnormalities such as:

They are a non-invasive technique that uses a minimal amount of radiation to produce images of the body's internal structures. Although the procedure is painless, some pets may feel stress or anxiety during it, which can be managed with sedation.

Although owners can't be present during the X-ray, our nurses will stay with your pet to ensure their comfort and safety. We'll gently position your pet on their side or back, taking care to minimize stress and prevent movement that could blur the images. 

In our clinic, there are times when the veterinarians will take you to the back to our X-ray room, allowing you to view your pets' X-rays while explaining the prognosis. Here are a few examples of X-rays you might see, along with the issues they reveal:
