Vaccines protect your pet against serious contagious diseases. Your veterinarian will recommend a schedule based on your pet's age, lifestyle and risk. Core vaccines are free for SingVet CareClub members.
Core vaccinations for cats
- Feline Panleukopenia Virus — A highly contagious viral disease caused by feline parvovirus, affecting rapidly dividing cells in the bone marrow and intestines. Cats commonly present with diarrhea.
- Feline Herpes Virus — Causes sneezing, runny nose, drooling and eye infections. If untreated it can progress to pneumonia; infected cats can remain carriers for life.
- Feline Calicivirus — Respiratory symptoms similar to herpes virus that can also cause mouth ulcers.
- Feline Chlamydia — A bacterial disease causing chronic respiratory infection.
Core vaccinations for dogs
- Canine Parvovirus — Highly contagious and life-threatening, especially in puppies. Signs include severe, often bloody vomiting and diarrhea; deaths can occur within 48–72 hours.
- Canine Distemper Virus — Attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems. Often fatal, with survivors usually left with permanent nervous-system damage.
- Infectious Canine Hepatitis — Causes severe liver disease that can lead to liver failure.
- Canine Parainfluenza — A respiratory virus causing coughing and fever.
- Leptospirosis — Bacterial disease damaging the kidneys and liver that can also spread to humans.
Optional vaccinations (based on risk)
- Kennel Cough (Bordetella bronchiseptica) — Recommended for dogs in close contact with others (day care, boarding, dog parks). Causes coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge and fever.
- Canine Influenza (by pre-order only) — An air-borne respiratory virus with signs similar to kennel cough; higher risk in social settings.
Dental scaling and polishing is important to maintain good oral health. During the procedure, the surface of each tooth is examined and assessed, plaque and tartar are removed via scaling, and the tooth surfaces are polished afterwards.
General anaesthesia is required. While your pet is under anaesthesia, a dedicated anaesthesia nurse monitors their vitals closely. This is typically a day procedure and an appointment is required beforehand.
Running blood tests in the clinic is convenient and useful in many situations. Tests we offer in-house include:
- Complete Blood Count — red and white blood cell counts and platelet count.
- Biochemistry — liver and kidney function and protein levels.
- Blood Glucose
- Electrolytes
- Pancreatitis test for cats and dogs.
- FIV & FeLV — Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia Virus.
- Heartworm & Tick Fever tests for dogs.
- Parvovirus test and a feline blood test for heart disease (ProBNP).
